The High Priestesses of Healing: Celebrating International Nurses Day 2022
May 12, 2022
As the sun climbs higher in the sky and the veil between the seasons thins, we pause to honor the modern-day alchemists walking our hospital halls. Today is International Nurses Day, and while the world sees scrubs and stethoscopes, we see the sacred magic of the healers.
Being a nurse is more than a profession; it is a calling of the highest order. It is the art of balancing science with intuition, and medicine with the soul.
The Alchemy of Care
Nurses are the keepers of the threshold. They stand at the gates of birth and the portals of passing, guiding souls with a steady hand and a fierce heart. In a world that often feels clinical and cold, they bring the elemental forces of compassion:
- Water: For the tears shared in quiet rooms and the fluid grace required to navigate a crisis.
- Fire: For the burning passion that fuels a double shift and the advocacy that protects the vulnerable.
- Air: For the breath they coach back into lungs and the knowledge they whisper to those in fear.
- Earth: For the grounded presence that keeps a patient stable when their world is spinning.
Transmuting Pain into Peace
Every dose of medicine administered is a potion for recovery; every bandage wrapped is a protective sigil. Nurses possess the unique ability to transmute chaos into order. On this May 12th—the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth—we recognize that the “Lady with the Lamp” was simply carrying the first light into the darkness of the unknown.
“I attribute my success to this: I never gave or took any excuse.” — Florence Nightingale
A Blessing for the Healers
To the nurses wearing their crystals under their PPE, to those who manifest health for their patients, and to those who simply hold the space for miracles to happen: We see you.
May your coffee be as strong as your spirit, may your intuition never fail you, and may the universe return to you tenfold the healing energy you pour into the world.
Stay magical and stay hydrated,
Moonzie
