Reclaiming the Magic: Honoring Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)

Welcome, stardust souls. As we move into April 2025, the air carries the scent of damp earth and the promise of renewal. While spring usually calls us to bloom, this month also asks us to look into the shadows. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and this year, we are weaving a tapestry of healing, boundaries, and sovereign power.

In the craft, we know that true magic requires a foundation of consent and sacred space. Healing isn’t a linear path; it’s a spiral. Whether you are a survivor, an ally, or a seeker, this month is about honoring the bodily autonomy that is every soul’s birthright.

The Altar of Self-Care

This month, consider dedicating a corner of your space to resilience. You don’t need much—just a few intentional items to ground your energy when the world feels heavy:

  • Blue Lace Agate: For finding your voice and speaking your truth.
  • Black Tourmaline: To act as a shield against intrusive energies and triggers.
  • A Simple White Candle: To represent the purity of your spirit, which remains untainted by the actions of others.
  • Rosemary: For remembrance and the strength to move forward.

Rituals for Boundaries and Sovereignty

Magic is, at its core, the exercise of will. When that will has been violated, reclaiming it is the most potent spell you can cast.

1. The “No” Incantation

We often forget that “No” is a complete sentence and a powerful banishing spell. Practice saying it aloud in your mirror. Feel the vibration in your chest. You are the high priestess of your own temple; you decide who enters.

2. A Cleansing Salt Bath

If you’re feeling weighed down by collective or personal trauma, draw a bath with sea salt and dried lavender. As you soak, visualize any “hooks” or unwanted energies dissolving into the water. When you pull the plug, watch them spiral away, returning to the earth to be neutralized.

3. Wearing Teal

The color of SAAM is teal. In our practice, teal bridges the gap between the heart (green) and the throat (blue). By wearing it, you are signaling your commitment to heart-centered healing and the courage to speak out.

Supporting the Coven

Awareness without action is just smoke. This April, let’s look out for one another:

  • Believe Survivors: Validation is a form of soul-retrieval.
  • Check Your Circle: Ensure your rituals and gatherings are safe spaces where consent is explicit, not implied.
  • Donate: If you have the coins to spare, send them toward local crisis centers. Practical support is a high vibration.

“My body is my first home, my primary temple, and my most sacred ground. I alone hold the keys.”

Keep your wards high and your heart open, lovely ones. We heal better when we heal together.

Stay enchanted,
Moonzie
