Moonzie Momma

A rustic, witch-inspired Passover Seder plate set on a green linen cloth outdoors at twilight. The plate contains traditional items like bitter herbs, an egg, and nuts, labeled with small tags. A person with a moonstone ring is placing matzah on the table, which also features a leather-bound book, a beeswax candle, and a smudge stick.
Setting the space for liberation. Blending the ancient wisdom of the Seder with the deep, grounding energy of the earth to mark this season of transformation.

Embracing the Resonance: A Witch’s Perspective on Passover

As the wheel turns and we find ourselves in the heart of April, the energy shifts into a space of profound transformation and liberation. This year, the timing of Passover—the ancient festival marking the journey from bondage to freedom—aligns beautifully with our own paths of self-discovery and spiritual emancipation.

For those of us who walk the path of the witch, Passover is more than a historical retelling. It is a potent, energetic blueprint for shedding what no longer serves us. It is the ultimate ritual of breaking chains, whether those chains are societal, ancestral, or internal.

The Alchemy of the Seder

The Seder table is, in essence, a sacred altar. Every item placed upon it holds a specific vibrational frequency designed to ground us in the memory of struggle while celebrating the triumph of the spirit:

  • The Maror (Bitter Herbs): A reminder that growth often requires us to sit with the bitter experiences of our past. We honor the sting of these lessons, acknowledging that they were the catalysts for our evolution.
  • The Charoset: A sweet, earthy mixture representing the mortar used in building, reminding us that even within the structures of our daily lives, there is sweetness and connection to be found in our labor.
  • The Matzah: The bread of affliction, and also the bread of freedom. It represents the urgency of change—the ability to act quickly and decisively when the time for liberation arrives.

Ritualizing Liberation

This April 8th, I invite you to step into your own ritual of liberation. You don’t need to be of a specific faith to harness this energy. Consider lighting a candle and setting the intention to release one specific “bondage” you have carried through this past year.

Write down what you wish to leave behind, and then, much like the burning of herbs in our own practice, let the flame of your intention transform that energy. As the smoke clears, visualize yourself stepping out of that old skin, ready to walk into the wider, wilder space you have claimed for yourself.

May your journey this season be one of truth, courage, and complete, unyielding freedom.

Blessed be,

Moonzie
