The Seder of the Soul: Embracing the Magic of Passover

As the moon swells toward its fullness this April, we find ourselves at the threshold of Passover. While traditionally a commemoration of liberation and the exodus, for the modern practitioner, it serves as a potent energetic portal for breaking chains—both seen and unseen. April 6, 2023, marks a moment of profound transition, inviting us to look at our “internal Egypts” and decide what no longer gets to travel with us into the promised land of our highest selves.

Ritualizing the Seder Plate

The Seder plate is, in essence, a living altar. Each element corresponds to a physical and spiritual sensation, making it the perfect focal point for a kitchen witch’s evening:

  • Maror (Bitter Herbs): Acknowledge the hardships that sharpened your intuition.
  • Karpas (Green Vegetable): Dipped in salt water, this represents the rebirth that follows the tears of the past.
  • Charoset (Fruit & Nut Paste): The sweetness that makes the hard work of transformation possible.
  • The Roasted Bone or Beet: A symbol of the ancient sacrifices made to ensure the survival of the spirit.

Breaking the Matzah: A Spell for Release

Matzah is known as the “bread of affliction,” but it is also the bread of haste. It represents the moment you choose to leave a stagnant situation so quickly that there isn’t even time for the bread to rise.

A Simple Passover Release:

  1. Hold a piece of Matzah in your hands.
  2. Visualize a habit, a fear, or a tie that keeps you bound to a lower vibration.
  3. As you snap the Matzah, whisper: “I break the bond; I claim the light. I leave the shadows in the night.”
  4. Eat a small piece, internalizing the strength of your own resolve.

Opening the Door for Elijah

In many traditions, a cup is set for the prophet Elijah and the door is opened to welcome his spirit. To add a touch of enchantment, view this act as opening your home to Divine Inspiration. As you let the night air in, imagine the spring breeze clearing out stagnant energy, making room for new prophecies and manifestations to take root in your garden.

Stay Bright,

Moonzie
